Scrum Delivery Methodologies

Xelleration uses the Scrum methodology for project delivery. Scrum is an agile development methodology in which a problem is divided into a set of distinct tasks assigned to team members. The word Scrum is derived from the formation in rugby where, as in scrum development, people performing different roles and fulfilling distinctive tasks come together to form an effective team. Scrum is a focused effort that emphasizes short /quick meetings that address immediate problems and keep tabs on progress on a frequent basis. Scrum development methodology is very efficient particularly in dealing with the inevitable management overhead that impact projects with distributed teams.

The Xelleration Scrum working team

A typical Xelleration Scrum team normally consists of 5-9 people that include problem solvers and designers. Team members decide how the work is arranged and how assignments are distributed.

Product owner

The Product owner represents the customer or user and ensures that the Scrum Team works with business perspective in mind. The Product Owner administers a Product Backlog which is a current to-do list. This list is visible to the entire organization.

The Product Owner is often a customer/user but can also be part of the internal organization.

Scrum master

The Scrum Master is a combination of project manager and mentor. The Scrum Master meets with the team every day in brief meetings or Daily Scrums. The focus of a Scrum master is always on providing the team with the best possible circumstances for realizing the goals fixed for the Sprint.

A Sprint is a focused endeavor for a 30-day period toward fixed goals.

Scrum tech team

The Scrum tech team consists of the software developers and engineers. The tech team is also considered the “”the work force” as these are the team members who perform the actual coding /development and configuration work.
